Stoked Mission Trip

Partnering with Christ COmmunity CHurch

April 2–6, 2023  ||  Greater Sacramento Area  ||  $180

James 4:13–15

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

The purpose of this local mission is to raise the value of service among our students at New Life Community Church, by partnering with Christ Community Church. We will be spending our Spring Break reaching the greater Sacramento area!

What?

While this is a short term trip, we desire to do everything possible to come alongside

ministries in the Sacramento area that are currently caring for and reaching people in

need with the love and grace of Jesus. We will be working alongside our church

partners like the Sayonara Center in Citrus Heights.

Student Commitment

Here are a few things that you need to commit to in order to go on the trip.

1. Attend our commissioning at all Sunday church services on April 2nd.

     • You’ll need to be here that Sunday from 8:45 am until 12:30 pm.

2. Find 5 prayer partners for the trip.

     • Explained below in the Raising Money section: you do not have to ask

for money, but you do need to have a minimum of 5 prayer partners to go.

3. Come on the trip with a great attitude and heart to serve and love.

     • Five days together is a long time and issues and struggles are sure to exist in our

time away. Coming for the right reason will help to make sure that the unity and

mission of the team is accomplished.

4. Commit to the whole trip.

     • Just because we are local does not mean you will be allowed to come and go

throughout the day. You must be committed to it all.

Parent Commitment

Sending a student on a mission trip is different than sending them to summer camp. It is not as simple as writing a check and dropping them off at the church. Therefore, it is crucial that you are an active part of your student going on the trip.

1. Help support the entire team through prayer and encouragement.

2. Bring accountability to make sure your student is fulfilling their commitment.
